Restoration news and interior tips and tricks

How are you all today. Finally, I have collected some material and put it together for a newsletter.

HQ Monaro Bucket Seats

This is a sneak peek as the rebuild of these particular seats has not yet been put on a special page on the website. Three tone is Galaxy Blue and a two tone Grey in high quality Marine Vinyl. Very nice.

They look absolutely beautiful in the real world. The car is still being rebuilt yet. So, one day I will post the photo of the car and the interior.

Buick Car Club

How do you like this one. A very nice 57 Buick.

Ford Zephyr MK3 Photos

The two photos on top are of my MK 3 Zephyr which was spruced up with Zodiac bumpers and grille by the previous owner.

She has recently had a baked two pack paint job after a full restrip. The last paint job was in 1986 and the doors did not have one bit of rust.

The reason was plenty of fish oil at regular Intervals.

Some door trim and seat work is coming up here. But like a mechanic you never work on your car first.

Bottom Photo

The bottom Mk 3 Zephyr photo was taken near Blackall in Central Western Queensland in 1967. I had forgotten that the Mark 3 had mirrors and a swan. Of course that was all the rage then.

The car in the background is a Vauxhall as far as I can remember.

XJ6 Daimler Seats

Sneak Preview.

This Daimler job was completed in Marine Vinyl which (once again) looks like leather. The only difference is that it does not smell like leather.

People have remarked to the owner about how good his leather seats look. We’re not letting on though.

The full rebuild details will be added shortly to the website. You can also see a photo of the car as well.

1932 Ford Phaeton V8

The owner of this car is a very determined person and nothing will stop him from completing this car.

Apparently it is very rare, being a V8 Phaeton, even though it is an Australian bodied car. The body and undercarriage is very highly detailed and a credit to the owner.

You can see the seats in the photo above. They have been totally rebuilt, from the springs up. The wooden bases have been remade and the covering is in Scottish Leather.

The colour is as close to original as possible while the finish is likely to be smoother than when originally manufactured. Just the way that I have rebuilt them.

A special page will be built, depicting the different stages of the rebuild and highlighting the problems which we faced.

Look out for this one.

Your Car Photos and Story Please

If you have some nice photos of your pride and joy, please send them in to me with a story and I will put it in a later newsletter for you.

Contact me through a “contact me” box on most pages on the site. I will then reply to your email and we can organize the photos and story for you.
