Hello, and how is your classic car performing?

------------------------------------------

We have recently completed an interior retrim on a Chev Belair (1963) model in Black automotive and Grey marine vinyl.

It looks surprisingly good now considering that the front bench and rear seat (which were both very plain) were trimmed in a brown red patterned vinyl with buttons.

There will be a page added to the website soon with complete details.

The most interesting thing about this job was that special "kick panels" were made as the original cardboard type ones were not re-useable.

After spending almost a day to fabricate them, another template was made (and trial fitted) so that any other enthusiasts could obtain a set if needed. These are available for sale if wanted.

Another special part of the rebuild was that the door trims were made to fit to the doors with the normal push in clips.

Originally the trims had a steel edging with sharp spikes on the inside which pushed into the door frame. These were discarded and fresh holes drilled into the door to accommodate the push in pins.

The door trim photos will be published on the website later.

FC Holden Sedan

Greg Lacy has commenced the bodywork on an FC Holden Sedan, and from what he has told me it is extensive. At present the finished colour is to be white, (no two-tone scheme).

Whether it is a special or not will be determined later. Everything is to be original, or as close as possible.

Mention was made about the complete rebuilding of the lower parts of the doors. We will have photos of this later on at the FC holden page.

Something to look forward to for the FC enthusiasts.

Retrimming

It seems at present that the interior may be Maroon and Cream and in high quality marine vinyl.

Marine vinyl is probably one of the better materials to cover car seats, as it is UV treated and is mold resistant.

Photos later.

HJ Holden Ute

The existing holden ute page has details about Greg Lacy's bodywork rebuild.

Surprise for Greg

The ute was entered in the Beef 2006 Ute muster at Rockhampton Queensland recently and was awarded "Best Restored Pre 1985 Ute".

Greg was ecstatic, and it just shows that attention to detail really does pay off.

Let's see what happens to the FC when it is finished also.

The details of the prize winning category are posted at the website already.

Here's the latest photo with the rear of the ute finished off.
