So you find a vehicle somewhere and it's like an expedition to pack up and head off, sometimes for 4/500 hundred miles or so.
There is a sense of discovery as if one was an early explorer and finding otherwise unheard of new things, and when you actually see the vehicle nothing is a problem to fix this or that as the enthusiasm is at an all time high.
Porsche Speedster Above is a very nice 1956 Porsche Speedster Replica. It was built in 1974 and now has 1000 miles on it. There is a new 1600 VW engine, rebuilt 67 transmission, and the car is in showroom quality.

There is always a steady demand and supply for these cars, as some people restore a car, sell it off, and then look for another one to work on. Sounds like fun to me. Sometimes a collection has grown a little too large and it’s like cutting off an arm and a leg to have to part with just one car. There are a number of us like this I think. However, the number of cars in a collection depends on shed space and security, the time available, and of course money. It seems like the last resort to have to put up the for sale sign though.
