These events provide huge amounts of interest for both members and the viewing public.
Just to see some of the classic cars from yesterday brings back so many memories for a lot of people. Usually the interest stems from a person owning one of those cars themselves many years ago.
Sometimes a particular classic car was owned by a family while a child was growing up and childhood memories grew from holiday trips in that car.
The Cars and parts at rallies
A lot of the time members who attend these rallies are looking to check out similar classic cars owned from other visiting members. Once they locate the owner of another car they then end up in some very detailed discussions about particular parts of the car.
In the end some members find out about the workings of their cars through association with other members.
Also there is generally a car boot sale going on at these rallies and sometimes elusive parts are found.
Leads are received from interested spectators about the whereabouts of particular cars. So then it’s off to check that car out when the time is available.
