Swap meets are generally yearly events and attract huge amounts of interest and sometimes very large numbers of visitors.
It seems to be the case that some car clubs or a Rotary Club are usually involved in running these events. The organizers sometimes donate some of the proceeds to worthwhile charities or to the owners of the grounds so that buildings and amenities can be upgraded.
On the day you may meet a stall owner who travels to every swap who sometimes has those hard to get parts, or knows someone else who does. Once you make a contact you have a good chance of getting the parts needed to finish off your classic car restoration.

List of car shows and swap meets
Beven Young has compiled a list of swap meets in all Australian states and he also has an international space allocated. You can check out the interesting ones.
This swap has been proudly organized by the Darling Downs Veteran and Vintage Motor Club Inc. for a number of years. It is the largest in Queensland and one of the largest in Australia.
Due to the sheer size of this event there is every chance that you will pick up some hard to get parts or find a lead to some.
This event is always on the first full weekend of February each year and is currently held at the Toowoomba showgrounds.
So, if you plan to go in 2007 you had better get in and register now.
