Here we have a recent ford xd falcon restoration of the interior trim belonging to an 1979 Australian sedan.
The seats, door trims, rear deck, hood lining and carpet have been finished off in a nice array of contrasting greys. This matches in with the repainted grey roll bars needed for safety at the drag racing strip at Benaraby. (A local strip here)

Tuf 79 will be living up to it’s name soon as the Ford xd falcon 351 V8 will be producing a very reasonable amount of horsepower. Figures and revs per minute will be advised later.
Hopefully we can provide a picture of the engine on the dyno, and of the car on the drag strip, which will add some reality to this ford falcon restoration.
See the video above at the dragstrip.
XD Falcon Interior Rebuild
The interior rebuild took place a few months ago now and was eventually finished off with the installation of the hood lining and the fitting of the rear deck pieces.
We say pieces as they had to fit around the rear roll bars which fitted through the parcel tray. With some precise measuring both ways an eventual nice smooth tight fit was achieved. Some final fitting of the roll bars has to take place before the interior can be fully installed.
Some nice photos of the finished off interior will be supplied later.
The rear seats
These have finished off very nicely and the owner is extremely pleased with the result. To achieve these smooth full results extra foam has been added to the seat base, together with a half inch underlay glued to all seat tops and faces.

Retrimmed XD falcon drag seats
A photo of the retrimmed front bucket seats has finally surfaced and is now displayed for your inspection.
They were certainly a bit of a challenge as the seat covering had to be made to "hug" the body of the seat.
While the piping join on the outside had to follow a nice flowing line from the top to the side and then around the corner at the front.
Now we have a nice matching of interior trim on the front and back seats, and also the door trims. (Photos later)
However, perseverence paid off in the end and we have a very nice result which all are proud of.
Let us know if you have any comments on these please. They originally had some kind of vinyl type of covers pulled over them which were very sloppy and did not look the part at all.
Door Trims/Cards
The door trims have been finished off in the same pattern as the rear seats above and look the part also. Photos of these will also be provided later.
These trims were fabricated from 3ply material which produces a very nice flat look.
